Fried garlic - gratiem jiew
Fried garlic is used in noodle soup and variety of other dishes.
I have discovered a quick way to make fried garlic. Press a big clove of garlic with garlic presser into a small cup. If you don't have a garlic presser, mince the garlic with a knife instead. Add 2 tablespoons of oil. Microwave for 30 seconds -- depending on your microwave, it might take more or less than 30 seconds. Keep in mind that it will continue to cook in the hot oil after it is taken out of the microwave. The goal is to have the golden color. Fried garlic keeps for a very long time.
Traditionally, people would mince garlic and fry it in a pan. You would have to stir the garlic constantly and take it out at the right time. Then, you would have to wash the pan. Slow and a hassle when compared to the joys of microwave.
