I am glad that okra or grajiab in Thailand are available everywhere in the US. It is deep fried, cooked in sour curry (gang som) and as eaten raw as an accompanying vegetable to nam prig dishes.

If you ask for grajiab in markets in Thailand, you might be asked, "which kind?" There is a fruit that shares the same name, but is completely different.
