Cherry Tomatoes

The cherry tomatoes that are grown in Thailand are not the sweet cherry tomatoes that are grown in the US.  In some parts of Thailand, they are called ‘makua som’ (som means sour).  The sourness is very complimentary to the Thai dishes they're used in.  Even though the taste is not quite the same, western regular cherry tomatoes will make a fine substitution.
