Fried garlic is used in noodle soups and variety of other dishes.
Traditionally, people would mince garlic and fry it in a pan. You would have to stir the garlic constantly to keep it from burning and uneven browning and take it out at the right time. Then, you would have to wash the pan. Slow and a hassle when compared to the joy of microwave.
