- 1/2 cup daikon Optional
- 1 teaspoon dashi
- 1 tablespoon soy bean paste
- 1 handful spinach Optional
- 1/2 cup Soft Silken Tofu Optional
- 4 cups water
Tips and Techniques
This is an easy dish to make when you have the basic soy bean paste and bonito.
To make vegetarian, skip the dashi.
Method
Boil water. Add soy bean paste and dashi. That is the basic soup. Add vegetable and/or tofu. Let boil and serve hot.
You can add many vegetables that you like. I would recommend julienne daikon, tofu, spinach. cabbage, onion, potato, or seaweed. Use one or combination of any of these vegetables.
I garnish my soup with green onion sometimes, just for the color.
