A dim sum favorite.
- 1 teaspoon garlic
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon green onion
- 1 dash ground pepper
- 1 cup ground pork
- 1 dash salt
- 1 pinch sugar
- 1 package wonton skin
Method
Use ground pork, beef, shrimp or crab meat or combination of any or all. Mince ginger, garlic, green onion and add to the ground meat. Add salt and pepper. Mix well.
Place a teaspoon of the mixture in the middle of the wonton skin. Make a circle with you thumb and index finger. Push the shumai into the circle to form a cup. You might need to push down the meat to replace the air. If you feel fancy, put a piece of pea or carrot on top for decoration.
Steam for 7-10 minutes and serve with soy sauce or mustard or just plain.
