- 1/3 cup corn starch
- 1 dash dashi
- 2 tablespoon mirin
- 2 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 package extra firm tofu
- 1 cup water
Method
Cut tofu into big cube, about (2 x 2 x2). Dust in corn starch and deep fry or pan fried. When you fry the tofu, the starch becomes sticky. Be careful not to let tofu touch one another. Set the fried tofu in a bowl.
Sauce: add soy sauce, mirin, water and dashi to a pot. Let it boil. Pour over tofu. Serve hot. Sometimes I garnish the dish with thin strip of nori.
